How do I find what I am looking for?There are several ways to search for items on this website. If you are unsure what you need, then take some time to browse through our products using the 'category buttons' i.e. costumes by theme. You will be offered a menu of options where you can look at costumes in different theme categories i.e. 'Goodies and Baddies', or by gender (Ladies and Gents). If you click on a costume you like the look of, you will then see a larger image and the description will tell you about the costume and what's included with it. We have selected some appropriate accessories for you to save time searching, but there is no obligation to purchase these with the costume. You are welcome to look for alternative accessories in the accessory section.
If you know what you are looking for then you can type in a word in the 'search' box on the homepage and Captain Costume will go and find it for you i.e. 'Batman'. If this isn't working well for you then please check your spelling or try a different search word. It's best to be as specific as possible here.
We think you will definitely find a great costume on our website and the best way to see our variety of costumes and to get inspired is to browse through the categories!

How do I know what size to buy?For each costume we have listed its size where appropriate. It is important to remember that fancy dress costumes are not like 'normal' clothing, as the costumes are designed to fit a range of sizes i.e. 12 - 16. They are often made from stretchy fabric and have Velcro or loose ties and elasticated waists, so they fit and are comfortable for range of sizes.
We have put our larger adult size costumes into one category called 'larger sizes' which can be found in the 'adult themed costumes' section. You can be reassured that the costumes in this section are made with the fuller figure in mind.
We use several costume manufacturers and they have different ways of sizing their costumes. This means some costumes have measurements and some have dress sizes. We have tried to avoid using small, medium and large as they are a bit ambiguous and don't tell you a lot. Children's costumes are sized by age but please use your judgement here, if your child is particularly tall for their age you may need to go up to the next size.

How long will my costume take to arrive?
You basically have 3 options here:
* 1st Class Royal Mail for orders up to £60.00 is £4.50
You should expect to receive your order between 5 - 7 days of placing your order.
* Royal Mail Special Delivery for orders up to £60.00 is £5.50
You should expect to receive your order between 3 - 5 days of placing your order.
* Express delivery service is £7.50 via Royal Mail Special Delivery Next day.
You should expect to receive your order within 1 - 3 days of placing your order.
It depends on what time of day you place your order too. If you place your order before midday we will dispatch it that same day so you should receive it promptly, depending which postage option you have gone for. We recommend that you read our 'Delivery and Returns' sections all the details about delivery costs and times are included here.

Can I return my purchase?
YES! We hope you are delighted with your purchase however we understand there may be occasion to return an item. We do have a returns policy that can be read in the 'Delivery and Returns' section but read on for a brief guide.
Damaged or faulty goods:
Of course we will be happy to refund or replace damaged or faulty goods. However we are not liable in respect of any defect arising from fair wear and tear, willful damage, negligence, abnormal working conditions, misuse or alteration or repair of the items without our approval.
Wrong size or dislike product:
We will take back a product that you have decided you do not wish to keep for whatever reason, but unfortunately there are rules with these returns. These can be found in the 'Delivery and Returns' section. Briefly they must be returned within 7 days, in their original, unopened packaging and be in a re-saleable condition.

Can I cancel my order?YES! You may cancel all or part of your order if you so wish. We ask that you notify us as soon as possible, either by phone, fax or e-mail. This will help stop the order before it is dispatched. If we can cancel the order at this stage you will not incur any postage charges, however if the order has been dispatched you will need to return it to us, unused & unopened, at your own cost, within 7 days. We have more information on canceling your order in the 'Delivery and Returns' section.

Can I change my mind?
YES! We realize you may order a costume and then see something else you prefer! In this situation it is best to order the preferred costume as a new order and then return the unwanted costume unopened as soon as you receive it, then we will give you a refund. Please refer to our Delivery and Returns section for more information.

How long will the refund take?We will endeavor to provide your refund on the day we receive your returned item. It may take slightly longer during busy times like Halloween. Please note that under Distance Selling Regulations we have up to 30 days to make a refund.
